Every day in NYC, home care workers’ health is destroyed by inhumane 24-hour shifts & patients’ care is compromised – just to benefit greedy insurance companies and sweatshop bosses! There has already been a 4-year delay in passing the No More 24 Act (Int 303) to replace 24-hour shifts with two 12-hour shifts. The violence against women must end today! No more delay!
On April 16, women workers will go on hunger strike after Speaker Menin failed to submit the No More 24 Act for a vote. She was pressured by Governor Hochul and Mayor Mamdani to not end this modern-day slavery but workers do not accept this! They have no choice but to go on hunger strike until the bill is submitted.
Don’t let City Hall keep us trapped in a violent system that kills us! Here’s what you can do:
If you are part of an organization, please send a letter to Speaker Menin urging her to submit the No More 24 Act now or sign on to an existing letter started by community members: Contact the Speaker at: [email protected]
