| Today, home care workers resumed their hunger strike outside of City Hall. Hundreds of supporters from across the city came out to the kickoff rally. After Speaker Julie Menin betrayed workers by not submitting the original No More 24 bill to a vote, home care workers have no choice but to continue their hunger strike. Julie Menin is showing her true colors and exposing herself as no better than Governor Kathy Hochul, who colludes with greedy insurance companies and home care sweatshops to exploit torture women. The hunger strike follows two weeks of sitting in outside of Menin’s residence on the Upper East Side, and morale is high as hunger strikers settle into day 1.
